Tyler Strickland’s love for the sport of volleyball was ignited at a very young age when he and his father began playing in doubles tournaments together. As he grew older, he began to excel in the sport and went on to have a successful year of college volleyball before joining the United States Marine Corps.  Tyler was deployed in 2011 and served four years active duty. He attended multiple leadership and physical training courses throughout his time in the Marine Corps and received an Honorable Discharge in April of 2013.

Having spent most of his life playing volleyball and being around the sport at various levels of competition, Tyler is committed to sharing his passion and experience with others as a coach. He currently resides in Huntington Beach and has a son named Jaxson. Tyler’s sister, Cassie Strickland, plays volleyball for the University of Washington.
