He is now transferring that desire from the playing side over to coaching at all levels of the game, which includes top USA Beach Olympic hopefuls and down to A4 youth.
"I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My whole, immediate family still resides in Minnesota. I was involved in all sports growing up. Up until my high school years I was involved in everything, hockey, soccer, tennis, baseball, football, basketball and even some homemade leagues of pool hockey and whiffle ball with the crew. I just loved competing. My dad played collegiate hockey and I followed suit growing up. When an organized Junior Olympic team was formed during my freshman year of high school I was captivated and I continued to play hockey and tennis. My senior year I completely focused on volleyball. I was fully hooked with the game, watching the AVP every summer weekend on NBC. I knew that I wanted to pursue the sport on a professional level!"
